How do I care for my jewelry?

What's the difference between solid gold, gold-filled, and gold-plated?
Solid gold is the most durable and valuable, made entirely of gold alloy. Gold-filled has a thick layer of gold bonded to a base metal — it's durable and won't flake. Gold-plated has a thin layer of gold over base metal and may wear over time. We'll always specify the metal type in each product listing.
